Description
The nose of this oaked Merlot enjoys flavours of ripe raspberries, cherries and fruitcake. The palate is caressed with comforting flavours of cherries, liquorice and ripe berries with silky tannins and soft acids guiding the flavours to the finish.
Harvest Notes
The 2006 season experienced above average rainfall. A cooler than normal summer proved to be challenging for the Viticulturalists requiring focus in the vineyard to ripen the red fruit. However this practise payed off and the result, lower yields lower alcohol well balanced flavoursome Red wines.
Food Recommendation
Wandering Wallaby Reserve Merlot pairs well with a range of spicy dishes. Try a Beef vindaloo the Merlot doesn’t over power the food, however provides a refreshing counter balance.
