Description
A bright, lively Chardonnay with peach, melon and tropical fruit aromas followed by a fresh, well-balanced palate, with a delicate, creamy finish. The palate exhibits fresh, ripe Chardonnay flavours - peach, melon and fig - with a delicate, creamy texture and a crisp, clean finish. Subtle oak handling complements, rather than overpowers the wine.

Harvest Notes
The conditions in 2004 were mostly very good with dry weather and a frost free spring followed by a growing season that for the most part, was cool and mild. Coupled with the ongoing drought, flavour intensity in the grapes developed slowly and steadily, resulting in slightly reduced yields, but high quality fruit. Flavour concentration in both whites and reds was good to excellent across the board.

This wine was crafted from 100 percent Chardonnay grapes, sourced primarily from our vineyards in the Murray Darling region, located within South Eastern Australia. Grapes were picked and crushed during the cool of night so as to retain their fresh, varietal flavors. The juice was then divided into five parcels. Each parcel of juice underwent a different treatment, such as malolactic fermentation; fermentation and aging with American oak; or spending an extended period on yeast lees. Each treatment resulted in an individually flavored parcel of wine and the unique character and personality of the final blend is a result of the special handling of these five separate parcels.

Food Recommendation
Wandering Wallaby Chardonnay is a versatile wine that pairs well with a wide range of foods. Try with ravioli filled with pumpkin and sage and a burnt butter sauce.
